Life. Outside the Lenses.

I love to give my camera to a child and let them have at it. That’s what I did Saturday, at the Farmer’s Market.

I gave my camera to Judah. He is seven.

And this is what I got:

His Mother and I desperately needed some sunshine and fresh air, after having been cooped up, with the sickies for three days. They are visiting from Nashville, and we both had visions of all the beauty and fun we would experience in this town, while they were here. Unfortunately, we’ve spent most of it, taking care of our sinuses and our sick children. Day two was spent lying horizontal on opposite couches, with eyes glazed over and aching bodies, while our kids coughed and played together.

It wasn’t overly pretty. But she’s a good friend and that’s what we do. Life! The yuck and the beautiful.

So, this was our first real outing, since they got here. We had so much fun, perusing the colorful tables, buying way too much produce (Did I mention that I have a weakness for brightly-colored objects?!), eating “hot” tamales in the grass,  and jumping on the ice that the vendors threw out. I think we were all pretty happy to be let out of the coop.

While Judah was busy snapping away, these tomatoes were begging me to take their picture. Well. Lucky for them, I got my camera back just in time to get this shot, before we left.
